Parents of Elementary Children
what is the best education method for your child?
With several schools of thought on what is the best education out there for your child, I wanted to get ideas of what other parents think? Should you choose pubilc vs private schools? Is it child dependent and what are the characteristics of the one you pick that you like the most and dislike the most?
Our daughter goes to Montessori and so far, it's working out to be great for her and us.
Great for her because it's teaching her lots of great values like sharing with both older and younger kids, being able to independently pick the skills she wants to work on for the day and enjoy each day to the fullest, not being competitive with other kids but instead bring out her own talents.
Great for us because it seems to teach her the values that we believe in respect all for what and who they are, not being aggresive about grades or ranking (which we believe is artificial competiveness and not internal drive to excel at what you are good at,) and loving what she does and who she is, thereby growing up very confident.
