It has been a continuous tradition in a family regardless of race to anticipate for a child’s first birthday. In some countries like China, Indonesia, Malaysia, and the Philippines, there is a belief that once a baby is given an abundant first natal day celebration, that baby would have a prosperous living in the future. The gift given is also perceived to have big effects on the development of the child.

this week has gone by quite fast. To back track - father's night was great. Nina had a blast showing off to her dad and her dad got to meet other kids she talks about and their dads, which was great (father bonding..)
We were fighting the flu the last few weeks so a little drain of energy. Nina is now into ballet and would like to start ballet (which will most probably happen starting April due to some timing conflicts.) She has started her swimming classes, which she likes and ofcours

Nina was extremely excited to get up this morning and go to school because tonite is Father's Night for her class - she gets to show her dad (her most favorite person in the world) what she does in school most days. She's going to pick her most favorite activities and show them to dad (which I would guess would be math work - division, reading puzzle boxes and doing maps of the various continents. Somewhere in between she might sneek her other non-educational related activity - taking care of
